Mineral Waters Trail
Greenways, an initiative recognized in the United States and Western Europe, promotes the conservation of cultural and natural heritage through sustainable development.
The "Mineral Waters Trail" in the central area of Romania, the first project of its kind in the country, was developed by the Environmental Partnership Foundation and the Tourism and Nature Conservation Association (ATON). Based on hundreds of baths and thousands of mineral water springs, the initiative has brought benefits to the environment, quality of life, and sustainable economic development.
Between 2000 and 2007, the Foundation funded and implemented projects such as the rehabilitation of the Nádas Bath, the construction of the suspended trail in Mohoș Peat Bog, and the first mineral waters museum. The Foundation’s partners rehabilitated and built other traditional mineral water baths.
Today, these attractions make up the "Mineral Waters Trail," including a bicycle route that avoids traffic and highlights the historical, cultural, and natural values of the region.
